About the team
This role sits with the Operations Department at Pearson College London. The Operations Department is a varied team responsible for Online Learning, Library Services, IT and Short Course Sales. The Operations team works hard to support our students and our academic colleagues, constantly innovating to ensure we all benefit from the latest technologies and approaches. We’re a student-focused, collaborative and hard-working team working in a fast paced environment. As a growing organisation, we are working in a fast paced environment but one where we nurture talent, share ideas and work collaboratively.
About the role
We are looking for an Operations Assistant who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the office environment on day-to-day basis.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and will possess exceptional organizational and time management skills, and experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment.
Ensuring all areas of the College are clean and tidy at all times;
Supervising cleaning staff on the College floors;
Setting up rooms for lectures, seminars and events;
Reporting issues with Facilities and Operations Manager;
Collecting and distributing incoming post;
Processing stationery orders for the College;
Coordinating room bookings and booking requirements for the room hire at PCL by external partners;
Requesting security passes for events;
Training additional cleaning staff;
Helping with space preparation for open days and taster days;
Performing monthly H&S checks on all PCL floors and report findings to Facilities;
Liaising with contractors on various issues resolution;
Attending monthly H&S meetings;
Acting as a Fire warden and First Aider;
Helping with internal office moves;
Involvement in other Ad-Hoc projects supporting other departments as required.
